Dvorak and the Old West Concert

Fidalgo Youth Symphony teams with its sister organization, Mount Baker Youth Symphony, to present all four movements of Dvorak’s Symphony in G Major along with other fantastic pieces for their annual partnership. The symphonies join each year to perform wonderful symphonic gems, and 2020 is no exception! Over one hundred twenty youth performers will grace the McIntyre stage for this traditional joint concert ~ do not miss it!

Holiday Joy Concert

Treasured melodies from many cultures and traditions were showcased by the musicians of Fidalgo Youth Symphony! We heard songs our predecessors enjoyed, plus modern creations, enriching our culture with amazing varieties of sound, melody, and tonal color. Young performers captured and shared the essence of celebration. We enjoyed “Sleigh Ride” and “A Christmas Festival” by Leroy Anderson, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”, and other favorites! Looking forward to the next concert!

Autumn Color Concert

Young musicians from Skagit, Island, Whatcom, and Snohomish Counties presented full orchestra masterworks by Sibelius and Grieg, along with several other exciting pieces! We celebrated the colors of music this autumn and enjoyed the artistic achievements of our talented performers on violin, viola, cello, bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, trumpet, trombone, horn, tuba, and percussion instruments!
Youth in Bloom Concert
June 1, 2019, 1:00 p.m. McIntyre Hall, Mt. Vernon
For its final concert of this season, Fidalgo Youth Symphony presented award-winning Seniors who earned their star status in the organization through years of practice and performance. Each played a solo, accompanied by the Youth Symphony. It was a stunning Young Artist showcase!
The symphonies (students approximately ages 6-19) presented gems from historic and contemporary orchestral styles, creating a grand finale for our concert season!
Symphonic Fusion Concert

What a great concert we had! Fidalgo Youth Symphony teamed with its sister organization, Mount Baker Youth Symphony, to present Romantic and Impressionist music for their annual partnership. The symphonies joined to perform the wonderful symphonic gem, Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony, movements 3 & 4. The third movement has one of the most famous and beautiful melodies in the history of music!
More than one hundred twenty youth performers graced the McIntyre Hall stage for this traditional combined March concert.
